Quickstart Guides for Tools
DVMP Pro is pretty intuitive, so most operations should be straightforward.
However, here are some condensed instructions for using each tool.
File Conversion
There are no options to set for file conversion. Just follow these steps:
- Open the input file using the File>Open menu.
- Select Tools->Convert then the submenu of the file type that you wish to convert to.
- In the resulting dialog box, choose the file name and location for the output file
- Click OK to start the conversion.
Burning-In
You can choose which items of DV metadata are burned into your file. You can do this at any time by going to the
Tools>Options menu and clicking the Burn-in tab - then just tick the required metadata items.
Alternatively you can choose the items at Burn-in time. That's what we'll do below.

Open the input file using the File>Open menu.
- Select Tools->Burn In Metadata

A dialog box pops up - tick the items that you want to burn in, then click the
OK button

A file selection dialog box appears - choose the file name and location for the output file.

Click OK to start the burn-in operation
Modify Metadata
You can choose the items of metadata that you want to change. You can do this at any time
by going to the Tools>Options menu and clicking the Modify tab - then just change the required settings.
Alternatively you can do this at Modify time. That's what we'll do below.

Open the input file using the File>Open menu.

Select the menu Tools->Modify Metadata

A dialog box pops up - tick the items that you want to change, and alter their settings as required, then click the
OK button

A file selection dialog box appears - choose the file name and location for the output file.

Click OK to start the burn-in operation
Split AVI File
You can choose which criteria are used for splitting AVI files. You can do this at any time
by going to the Tools>Options menu and clicking the Splitter tab - then just change the required settings.
Alternatively you can do this at Split time. That's what we'll do below.

Open the input file using the File>Open menu.

Select the menu Tools->Split File

A dialog box pops up - select the required split trigger and the output file
name format, then click the OK button

A file selection dialog box appears - choose the location and the file name
stem for the output file (this file name stem will be suffixed as per the selected
file name format)

Enter a Reel Name

Click OK to start the file-splitting operation
Extract Audio
There are no options to set for audio extraction. Just follow these steps:

Open the input file using the File>Open menu.

Select the menu Tools->Extract Audio

In resulting dialog box, choose the file name and location for the output WAV file

Click OK to start the extraction
Export Metadata
There are no options to set for metadata export. Just follow these steps:

Open the input file using the File>Open menu.

Select the menu Tools->Export Metadata

In resulting dialog box, choose the file name and location for the output CSV file

Click OK to start the export operation
Note that this operation is only available in the full version of DVMP
Pro. It is not available in the demo version.
Batch processing

Open the batch processing window using the File->Batch menu

Click the Add button, and in the file selection dialog choose the files that you want to process. The files get added to the File list box.

Alternatively, add files by dragging and dropping from Windows Explorer onto the list box.

To add more files, click the Add button again, or drag-and-drop more files.

To remove files from the list, click the unwanted files in the list so that they are highlighted, then click the
Remove button

Un-tick any files in the list box which you do not want to be processed this time.

Select the Operation you wish to perform

Click the Browse button to select the folder where all the output files will be created

Click the START button to begin the batch processing

If a Confirm Settings box appears, check the settings are correct and click OK.

The progress bars and the log file pane will show the progress of batch processing

Press the Abort key if you wish to abort processing

When processing completes, you can examine the batch log file which will be created in the output folder
